doeLEGAL Legacy Ascent ELM Legal Practice Management ERP Services and Operations n/a 2021 2021
In 2021 Donato Brown Pool & Moehlmann implemented Ascent ELM in a Houston, Texas environment as the firm’s Enterprise Legal Management platform for centralized invoicing and claims processing. The deployment supported day to day billing operations beginning September 2021 and was positioned within the billing functional area and related business units to standardize client invoice creation and submission workflows. Ascent ELM was configured to ingest and reconcile billing outputs and to support reporting for management teams, leveraging available resources to interpret data from billing software and to produce related management reports. Functional capabilities emphasized invoice generation, batch submission of large volumes of client invoices, and workflow orchestration between billing staff and business units to meet established invoicing deadlines. The implementation integrated with existing billing services explicitly listed by the client, including Bottom Legal-X, Ascent, TyMetrix 360, Quovant, and CounselLink, to create and submit invoices and to centralize invoice data for review and reporting. Operational coverage focused on the billing function and associated claims and reimbursement activities, with the team submitting claims to insurance companies and handling explanations of benefit processing as part of normal operations. Governance and process work centered on collaboration between the billing functional area and business units to secure accurate customer invoicing within established deadlines, and on case level research of claim denials and appeals to resolve issues and promote prompt insurance payment. Ascent ELM served as the enterprise legal management application supporting invoicing, denial research, reimbursement and appeals workflows at the firm.
