Governance for the rollout was led by a cross-functional selection panel of lawyers, operations and finance staff that defined three objectives: remove manual work for AP, increase visibility into legal spend, and free attorney time. Implementation restructured workflows to validate invoices at source, apply standardized billing rules during automated review, and allow legal operations to open matters in a single step.
Dropbox reported explicit operational outcomes following Brightflag go-live, including one-step matter opening reducing per-matter time from 10 minutes to 30 seconds with an annual time savings of 4 days, AP routing automation saving 48 days annually, accruals automation saving 24 days annually, and elimination of invoice currency and entity issues saving 12 days annually.
