Sage 50c Pastel Payroll was configured to handle payroll calculations, payslip generation, and creation of statutory documents and returns for the South African Revenue Service SARS, including income tax filings and employer declarations such as EMP201 and EMP501 and VAT-related reporting. Accounting workflows were executed alongside Pastel Accounting for income and expenditure reconciliation, bank statement to trial balance workflows and necessary journal entries, with a senior bookkeeper overseeing payroll runs, statutory submissions and ledger posting to enforce routine payroll cycles and compliance workflows.
