In 2018, eBranding Inc implemented Star IPS as its Procurement application. The deployment focused on embedding automated web data ingestion into Star IPS to support procurement cataloging and supplier information capture.
The implementation included a Python based daily crawler that extracted structured elements from webpages, specifically Customer Reviews, Star Information, Similar Items and Related items. Extracted content was processed through a lightweight ETL pipeline for normalization, deduplication and taxonomy mapping before being persisted into a centralized product and supplier catalog inside Star IPS, enabling catalog enrichment and metadata-driven search.
Operational coverage emphasized procurement and catalog management workflows, with the Star IPS application serving as the authoritative repository for item attributes and related content. The ingestion pipeline delivered recurring updates to item records on a daily cadence, supporting downstream sourcing, vendor assessment and merchandising functions within the company.
Governance was implemented around the automated feed and content quality, including scheduled crawl windows, automated data validation rules, and manual review queues for anomalous records. Change control and content tagging workflows were used to manage update propagation inside Star IPS and to maintain consistency of supplier and item metadata.
