ADP Legacy ADP Payroll Payroll HCM n/a 2017 2018
In 2017, ECS Federal implemented ADP Payroll to centralize and standardize core payroll operations. The ADP Payroll deployment served the company wide Payroll function and was positioned to handle employee pay processing, special payroll events, and deduction management across ECS Federal in the United States. Configuration and functional modules implemented in ADP Payroll included new hire setup and payroll processing, recurring semi monthly payroll runs, special payrolls for equity and RSU events, garnishment management, tax and address setup maintenance, and 401k deduction uploads. Operational activities documented by payroll staff show ADP Payroll was used to create payroll journal entries for reconciliation and to produce worker compensation reports for submission to the parent, ASGN. Integrations and data flows were explicitly aligned to existing systems and teams, with new hire information validated against Deltek Costpoint prior to entry into ADP Payroll. The implementation supported regular interaction with program managers and employee support channels through Payroll and TE inbox workflows, and produced GL facing outputs consumed by the internal General Ledger team. Governance and operational controls were formalized around semi monthly payroll cadence, verification of timesheets, periodic address and tax reviews, garnishment verification with employees, and audit support for DCAA labor floor checks led by the Compliance Manager. Payroll Accountant responsibilities illustrate the process and control model used to maintain payroll data quality within ADP Payroll, and to coordinate payroll related reporting with HR, Finance, Compliance, and program management stakeholders.

Palantir Technologies Legacy Palantir Foundry Analytics and BI Analytics and BI n/a 2020 2020
In 2020, ECS Federal implemented Palantir Foundry to support a Fairfax, VA mission in the Analytics and BI category, centralizing data ingestion and analysis workflows for a client engagement. ECS Federal used Palantir Foundry as the primary platform for data engineering and analytics work performed by project teams and embedded data scientists. The implementation focused on Foundry data pipeline and reporting capabilities, with pipelines authored in PySpark to ingest, transform, and aggregate vendor-supplied feeds. Palantir Foundry was used to create automated reporting and ad hoc datasets, with new calculated fields produced in Python and PySpark to support analytic workflows and downstream visualizations within Foundry. A facial recognition proof of concept was developed in Python to automatically vet vendor deliverables, demonstrating applied AI workflows running alongside standard ETL pipelines. Operational integrations were implemented with Amazon S3 using the Amazon Command Line Interface tool for bulk unstructured data access, and Python scripts were developed to read JSON artifacts and tabularize values for ingestion into Foundry. UNIX download and discovery scripts were created to provision vendor access to project data and to enumerate MIME types, file sizes, and directory structures in captured materials, enabling systematic assessment of incoming data quality. Data quality assessment and analytic exploration used SQL, QGIS, and Foundry visualization tools to validate and surface data issues. Governance and delivery practices included written training and documentation, hands-on support for team members and vendors, and occasional leadership of project calls to remove roadblocks and drive timelines. Integration planning for User Interface and User Experience systems and an AI reasoning engine was managed by soliciting vendor demonstrations, liaising with subject matter experts, and driving stakeholder consensus to align feature acceptance and delivery sequencing. Explicit outcomes recorded during the engagement include enabling the client to ingest and process more data from different vendors through PySpark pipelines, reducing manual work via automated reporting implemented in Palantir Foundry, and providing tools and scripts that allowed the client to successfully assess vendor work and meet project deliverables on time.
