In 2016 El Seif Engineering Contracting implemented Oracle Application Express (APEX) as part of an Apps Development deployment supporting its Oracle Fusion Cloud footprint. The implementation was executed alongside Oracle Fusion Cloud work in HCM, SCM, and Finance at the head office and was positioned to extend Fusion capabilities through bespoke APEX applications and BI artifacts.
Oracle Application Express (APEX) was used to deliver both analytics and transactional applications. BI development included dashboards, OTBI reports, and BI Publisher reports across Procurement, Inventory, Maintenance, Suppliers Portal, Core HR, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable. Two APEX applications were developed, Camp Management System which manages occupancy, check-in, check-out and transfers across employee accommodation camps, and an Exit Re-Entry Visa System which evaluates employee eligibility for exit re-entry based on company policy when vacation is applied through Oracle Fusion HCM.
Integration architecture centered on tight coupling with Oracle Fusion Cloud, leveraging Fusion extracts and REST API based integration patterns to exchange personnel and transaction data. The Camp Management System covered 15 accommodation camps across multiple sites and the Exit Re-Entry Visa System acted as an eligibility engine triggered by Fusion HCM vacation workflows. Business functions impacted included HR operations, workforce accommodation management, procurement and inventory workflows, maintenance tracking, supplier interactions, and core financial transaction processing.
Operational governance was implemented through Fusion administration and application lifecycle activities, including creation and customization of Job and Data Roles, user provisioning, access grants, BI issue resolution, page personalization and Fusion page customization. Business Process Management was applied to align APEX application behavior with Fusion HCM workflow events, and REST integrations were managed as part of ongoing administration and support.
