In 2019, Elite Home Products implemented Aptean Apprise ERP. The Aptean Apprise ERP deployment was executed as an Enterprise resource planning initiative to centralize inventory, order management, fulfillment and core retail finance workflows across the business.
The implementation focused on integrated supply chain, EDI and WMS capabilities within Aptean Apprise ERP. Functional configuration included EDI transaction processing, warehouse management workflows, order import automation and shipping orchestration, with custom import routines developed to eliminate manual order entry for non-EDI customers and zone-based pack slip printing to reduce pack station bottlenecks.
Integrations were built and maintained to connect the ERP to external systems, including a B2C Shopify storefront integrated via EDI through a third-party application, and a ProShip shipping system selected and implemented to handle drop ship complexity. The IT environment used on-premises servers hosted in a Hyper-V environment, company email migrated to Office 365, and perimeter network devices such as SonicWall and Sonic Points were administered to support operations.
Operational scope covered warehouse, IT, and office functions with the IT Manager serving as primary liaison between business and vendors and leading build, test and maintenance of ERP, WMS, EDI and shipping interfaces. Process and governance changes included creation of best practices, user training, system documentation updates, and custom reporting for financial and analytical needs, enabling standardized workflows and ongoing upgrade projects.
Explicit operational outcomes documented in the implementation included bringing EDI operations in-house to process over 40,000 EDI 850 purchase orders per day, developing procedures that allowed warehouse pickers to fulfill over 100 e-commerce orders per picker per hour, and eliminating manual order processing through custom imports while improving pack slip printing for supplier direct fulfillment.
