In 2006, Eveready India implemented Oracle E-Business Suite as its ERP Financial foundation. The deployment was intended to provide end-to-end control of procurement to production and sales, consolidating finance and core supply chain business functions under a single Oracle E-Business Suite platform.
Implementation work focused on financial and supply chain modules, including General Ledger GL, Payables AP, Receivables AR, Fixed Assets FA and Cash Management CM, with extensions into Order Management OM, Purchasing PO and Inventory INV to support Order to Cash and Procure to Pay workflows. The project delivered a multi organization design with creation of new sets of books SOBs, legal entities and operating units for India and the US, organization hierarchy and parent and child relationships for balancing segments, cost centers and natural accounts, plus chart of accounts design and a consolidation process. Configuration tasks included currency, calendar, taxation and payment format setups, implementation of withholding tax in payables, master data creation for banks suppliers and customers, special calendars and recurring transaction templates, and Financial Statement Generator FSGs to report profit or loss by balancing segment and cost center.
Technical coordination was handled with technical consultants for integrations and customizations in an Oracle Apps R12 environment with SQL as the database layer. Project governance and delivery used AIM methodology with BR30 and MD50 process documents for requirement gathering design and test scripts, and a completed CRP1 cycle. System level configuration included system options financial options payable options profile options and all other mandatory setups required to align module behavior with business rules.
Operational governance emphasized month end closing procedure design documentation training and issue resolution, supported by frequent cross functional meetings and weekly client status updates to stakeholders and management. Eveready Industries centralized transactional finance and procurement operations on Oracle E-Business Suite as its ERP Financial system which the project describes as delivering greater efficiency and lower costs.

In 2012, Eveready India implemented Oracle E-Business Suite HRMS. The implementation built on an Oracle E-Business Suite footprint that had been used for almost seven years across multiple departments, including HR and manufacturing, with an initial deployment on Oracle 11i and a database running on Oracle 10g prior to the 2012 HRMS go live.
Oracle E-Business Suite HRMS was configured to provide Core HR capabilities, including personnel data management, organizational management, payroll processing workflows, and time and attendance integration points consistent with Core HR functional design. Configuration work focused on employee master data, role based access controls, and HR transactional workflows that connect workforce administration with payroll and attendance processes.
The technical architecture required close database alignment, as the project included database platform upgrades and iterative tuning of database parameters. Eveready relied on DBA support and traditional query based tuning alongside constant monitoring, and partitioning and monitoring adjustments were identified as necessary after the database platform upgrade from 10g to a later Oracle database release.
Governance centered on operationalizing DBA runbooks and monitoring procedures, with database parameter management and partition strategy added to HRMS operational responsibilities. Eveready flagged that these tuning and monitoring activities were taking too long to execute, which shaped ongoing maintenance practices and the required operational handoffs between application support and DBAs.
