| Oracle | Legacy | Oracle PeopleSoft ERP | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2002 | 2003 |
In 2002, EvergreenHealth implemented Oracle PeopleSoft ERP in the ERP Financial category. The deployment established Oracle PeopleSoft ERP as the institutional financial and operational backbone for core business functions across finance, supply chain, human resources, and revenue cycle operations.
The implementation encompassed financial modules including Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Assets, Accounts Receivable, Billing, Grants, and Projects, and extended into SCM with Inventory, Purchasing, and eMarketplace capabilities. HRMS functionality included Payroll, Benefits Administration, and Employee Self-Service, while PeopleSoft-specific supply chain capabilities were configured for Item Sync and Supply Usage. Oracle PeopleSoft ERP was configured using PeopleTools components such as Application Designer, Application Engine, Security, Integration Broker, PeopleCode, SQR, SQL, and Crystal for reporting and batch processing.
Integrations were instrumented to connect PeopleSoft to clinical and vendor ecosystems, including Cerner for Profit and AP Refunds and surgical inventory flows, Meditech for AR and GL interfaces and AP Refunds, and PACE for AP Refunds and GL. Marketplace and procurement integrations included Prodigo eMarketplace for requisitions and item master synchronization, GHX EDI, Toreion B2B for 850s, and Prodigo for requisition workflows. Supply chain and procurement upstream links also included McKesson Requisition to PeopleSoft, Premier MySpend, CG4, @Par, UPS, and RepTrax, creating end to end transaction and EDI coverage.
Operational coverage focused on finance, supply chain, HR, and revenue cycle teams, with explicit interfacing to clinical systems where revenue cycle tools such as Cerner ProFit, Charge Master, and PM were part of the broader data flow. Integration Broker and people code driven interfaces supported transactional orchestration, while SQR and Crystal were used for scheduled financial reporting and batch reconciliations. The architecture favored modular PeopleSoft configuration that centralized financial master data, item master synchronization, and supplier catalogs to support hospital procurement and billing workflows.
Governance relied on Application Development and Support processes for PeopleSoft ERP, with ongoing use of PeopleTools for application maintenance and customization. Compliance and exclusion screening were integrated into operational controls via Federal OIG and EPLS/SAM exclusions and Washington State Medicaid exclusions checks. The implementation narrative centers on Oracle PeopleSoft ERP in the ERP Financial category as a multi-module, integrated enterprise application supporting EvergreenHealth finance, SCM, HR, and revenue cycle operations.

| Sterling Talent Solutions | Legacy | Sterling Background Check | BackGround Screening | HCM | n/a | 2020 | 2020 |
In 2020 EvergreenHealth implemented Sterling Background Check as its BackGround Screening application to centralize employment screening workflows supporting the Human Resources Business Partner team and HR Generalists. The deployment focused on HR functions that manage leaves of absence, Workers' Compensation, intermittent leave coordination, return-to-work and reasonable accommodation processes, and on employee and labor relations activities including performance management and grievance handling.
Sterling Background Check was configured to provide core screening capabilities typical of BackGround Screening solutions, including identity verification, criminal record searches, motor vehicle record checks and employment and education verification. Screening outputs and driving record status were mapped into Human Resources Business Partner modules in PeopleSoft and to Talentwise records where applicable, enabling HR case management and recordkeeping tied to employee files.
Operational workflows linked Sterling Background Check data to HR reporting used when responding to external data requests, including coordination with the Employers Unity vendor for Washington State unemployment claims and hearings. Governance was implemented through HRBP process ownership, with HR Generalists working closely with the Workers' Compensation and Leave of Absence Administrator and using Lucidoc to coordinate policy updates, while HR teams reviewed screening processes for LEAN implementation opportunities.

| Oracle | Legacy | Oracle Cerner Millennium | Electronic Health Record | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2018 | 2019 |
In 2018 EvergreenHealth implemented Oracle Cerner Millennium as its Electronic Health Record to unify clinical workflows and support care across its two-hospital system in Washington State. The Oracle Cerner Millennium Electronic Health Record centralized clinician access to patient records and established a platform for analytics and information exchange used by both clinical and research teams.
EvergreenHealth leveraged the Outside Record Viewer within Cerner Millennium to aggregate outside clinical data from consenting organizations participating in the Carequality and CommonWell Health Alliance networks, embedding health information exchange into point-of-care workflows. This interoperability capability allowed clinicians to retrieve external records directly inside the EHR, shortening retrieval time dramatically compared to manual fax processes and enabling faster establishment of a plan of care.
Clinicians and researchers used order and clinical data stored in Oracle Cerner Millennium for operational analytics and research, including analysis of patient responses to COVID-19 treatments stratified by age, sex and ethnicity. Analytics derived from the EHR were also applied to operational challenges, such as tracking personal protective equipment utilization and monitoring universal screening results to assess community prevalence and inform operating room readiness.
Governance relied on consented data sharing through the CommonWell and Carequality networks, and EvergreenHealth planned to expand interoperability functionality across all inpatient specialties and ambulatory clinics to broaden operational coverage. Reported outcomes from the implementation included a reduction in external record retrieval from a typical four to six hours by fax to approximately 30 to 40 seconds via interoperability, an operational improvement leaders link to more efficient patient care.
