Oracle Legacy Oracle PeopleSoft ERP ERP Financial ERP n/a 2006 2006
In 2006, Evergy deployed Oracle PeopleSoft ERP as its ERP Financial backbone to centralize treasury and corporate accounting functions. The implementation focused on liquidity management, debt and cash management, accounts receivable and general ledger control across corporate finance, treasury, tax, and risk-facing teams. Oracle PeopleSoft ERP configuration included General Ledger, Cash Management, Accounts Receivable, intercompany accounting, and treasury-related accrual and debt scheduling capabilities. Configurations were used to allocate expenses to ledgers across business units in accordance to FERC guidance, to record accruals for revolver borrowing and long term debt schedules, and to prepare journals supporting a $500M A/R securitization facility while isolating and correcting G/L mapping errors and omissions. Operational workflows supported by PeopleSoft included initiating wires, facilitating drawdowns, and monitoring capital calls for trust assets and institutional investment funding. Treasury staff used PeopleSoft records to settle intercompany loans and tax payables and to document daily liquidity positions while communicating with the Risk Trading desk to ascertain collateral calls and daily margin requirements. Liquidity forecasting and commercial paper issuance were executed within the PeopleSoft driven financial flow and reconciled to various funding sources and tenors. Governance emphasized centralized journal controls, GL mapping validation, and weekly economic rates outlook reporting to inform financing decisions. Analysts prepared Federal Reserve and LIBOR trend analysis to support capital structure reviews and long term debt accrual oversight, and senior leadership used PeopleSoft outputs to implement a new commercial paper program that produced 50-60 bps of interest expense savings.
