Sage 50c Pastel Payroll was configured to manage employee master records, recurring payroll runs, statutory tax and deduction processing, payslip generation, and payroll scheduling aligned to project invoicing cycles. The configuration accounted for time capture inputs and routine payroll journal preparation, reflecting typical Payroll category workflows such as gross to net calculations, tax withholding, and period close procedures. The implementation was integrated into the existing Sage application footprint, exchanging employee and financial posting information with Sage Evolution Pastel where purchase orders, credit notes and sales orders were already processed. Operational reporting and incident logs were coordinated with Sage CRM outputs and the firm s electronic time clock, enabling time and attendance data to feed payroll calculations and management reporting. Operational governance centered on the Financial Manager and an Executive Personal Assistant who managed day to day administration, approvals and payroll-related supplier invoice handling. Rollout included role based access for payroll and finance tasks, structured approval steps for pay runs and a handover of routine payroll operations into the finance function, aligning Payroll with billing and supplier invoice processes.
