In 2018 Exosite implemented ChargeOver as its Subscription and Recurring Billing platform to remove a labor intensive, complex, and error prone billing process. The project used ChargeOver and ChargeOver's API to create a fully automated billing pipeline that ingested customer utilization metrics and converted them into billable events within the ChargeOver billing engine.
The implementation centered on API driven integration and billing orchestration, mapping Exosite telemetry and usage records into ChargeOver for recurring invoicing and usage based rating, and automating invoice generation and billing schedules. Operational responsibility was concentrated across billing and finance with engineering providing metric feeds, and governance emphasized centralized billing orchestration and automated workflows to replace manual data preparation and billing runs. ChargeOver was configured to handle subscription records, billing cycles, and programmatic invoice triggers, providing a single platform for Exosite's subscription and recurring billing operations.
