In 2021, Farmacia Carol implemented Zebra ET5x devices as a retail operations deployment in the Dominican Republic. The rollout used Zebra ET51 rugged tablets at store drive-thru and in-store touchpoints to accelerate prescription check-in and to reduce fulfillment time to about 3–4 minutes, reflecting an application of the Zebra ET5x family within the Time Clock (Hardware) context for frontline retail workflows.
The deployment focused on prescription check-in and order fulfillment workflows using the ET51 rugged tablet form factor, leveraging mobile data capture, barcode scanning and touch-based workflow orchestration typical of Zebra ET5x devices. Although the published case study emphasizes order and fulfillment improvements, the ET5x implementation is consistent with Time Clock (Hardware) use cases and could be extended to employee timekeeping through Zebra Time Clock and ESS capabilities.
System integrator Gad supported the implementation and the operational scope centered on pharmacy operations and store associates across Carol Pharmacies in the Dominican Republic. Process changes routed checkout and prescription intake to the ET51 touchpoints, restructuring front-end fulfillment workflows to shorten prescription processing times and to centralize in-store interaction on rugged, purpose-built devices.
