Fern Plastics Technographics, Software Purchases, AI and Digital Transformation Initiatives
Discover the latest software purchases and digital transformation initiatives being undertaken by Fern Plastics and its business and technology executives. Each quarter our research team identifies on-prem and cloud applications that are being used by the 390 Fern Plastics employees from the public (Press Releases, Customer References, Testimonials, Case Studies and Success Stories) and proprietary sources.
During our research, we have identified that Fern Plastics has purchased the following applications: PDSVISION Moldex3D for Computer-Aided Design (CAD) in 2022 and the related IT decision-makers and key stakeholders.
Our database provides customer insight and contextual information on which enterprise applications and software systems Fern Plastics is running and its propensity to invest more and deepen its relationship with PDSVISION or identify new suppliers as part of their overall Digital and IT transformation projects to stay competitive, fend off threats from disruptive forces, or comply with internal mandates to improve overall enterprise efficiency.
We have been analyzing Fern Plastics revenues, which have grown to $45.0 million in 2024, plus its IT budget and roadmap, cloud software purchases, aggregating massive amounts of data points that form the basis of our forecast assumptions for Fern Plastics intention to invest in emerging technologies such as AI, Machine Learning, IoT, Blockchain, Autonomous Database or in cloud-based ERP, HCM, CRM, EPM, Procurement or Treasury applications.

In 2022, Fern Plastics deployed PDSVISION Moldex3D, a Computer-Aided Design (CAD) application, to embed simulation-driven validation into its UK injection moulding operations. The deployment focused on mould flow analysis for injection-moulded parts and used PDSVISION Moldex3D to model process variables and part geometry prior to tooling sign-off.
PDSVISION Moldex3D was configured to deliver mould flow analysis capabilities including weld line prediction, gas trap detection, warpage simulation, and gate location evaluation, aligning simulation outputs with engineering review workflows. Pdsvision acted as the implementation partner and provided configuration, model setup, and training for tooling and product design engineers.
The operational scope targeted engineering, tooling and quality functions within Fern Plastics in the United Kingdom, where simulation results were incorporated into design for manufacturability reviews and pre-production validation. The implementation was specifically intended to catch defects early such as weld lines, gas traps, warpage, and gate location issues to improve part quality and manufacturability.
