In 2017, FlexShopper implemented Oracle NetSuite ERP as its ERP Financial platform to centralize accounting, tax and payroll workflows for an e-commerce, publicly held operation with multi-state sales tax exposure. The deployment replaced Intuit QuickBooks Online and was positioned to consolidate general ledger, inter-company accounting and standard financial close processes.
Oracle NetSuite ERP was configured to support core financial modules including General Ledger and journal entries, Accounts Payable, bank reconciliations, fixed assets and depreciation schedules, prepaid expenses, and statutory reporting such as W-2 and 1099 preparation. The implementation also supported payroll administration workflows and controls consistent with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and included the creation of department process manuals to formalize internal controls and accounting procedures.
Integrations and data flows accompanying the NetSuite deployment included a payroll migration path to Paycom, tax transaction handling with Avalara for multi-state sales tax, and data imports or reconciliations from Intuit QuickBooks Online and CS Flex, with Excel retained for ad hoc reporting and reconciliations. The project assisted existing finance staff in converting accounting records into Oracle NetSuite ERP and establishing operational interfaces between finance, payroll and tax systems.
Governance and operational rollout emphasized auditability and process standardization, with the finance organization documenting controls and maintaining Sarbanes-Oxley related procedures.
