The Oracle Cloud ERP implementation encompassed core financial modules, specifically Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Cash Management and Advanced Collections, alongside Oracle Cloud HCM Base capabilities for Benefits, Recruiting, Goal Management, Talent Review, Succession Planning, Career Management, Performance Management, Learning and Workforce Compensation. Reporting and analytics were delivered using Oracle-provided tools, with BI Publisher, OTBI and SmartView used to build and schedule operational and financial reports and dashboards. Technical operations included support for inbound and outbound integrations between Oracle Cloud and third-party systems, use of SOAP and REST Oracle Cloud APIs to import and export master and transactional data, and execution of data conversion and mass-load processes using FBDI templates and ADFDi for reconciliation and correction. Report automation and batch processing were managed through Oracle ESS Jobs and BIP Jobs, and report security setup followed Oracle Cloud access controls and data model practices. Governance and rollout were organized within Forward Airs Corporate Systems Agile team in the IT department, with responsibilities that included defining best practice report deployment procedures, working across technical and non-technical stakeholders, and applying Agile delivery methods to iterate on reporting, integrations and data conversion tasks. The implementation emphasized deep Oracle cloud data model knowledge and SQL and PL SQL expertise to support ongoing report development and operational support.

The project lifecycle included CRP2 test cycles, resolution of seeded integration issues with Oracle, and iterative technical fixes while validating integration behavior across systems. Governance and rollout activities were organized around structured testing and change control, with test scripts and test plans created for each development object, functional and technical specs tracked in JIRA, and direct engagement with business users to finalize configurations. The delivery model emphasized offshore coordination for development, functional design transition to technical teams, and active management of change requests during test cycles.
