| GoCardless | Legacy | GoCardless | Subscription and Recurring Billing | ERP | n/a | 2020 | 2020 |
In 2020, Framework implemented GoCardless, upgrading to a customer contracted account to expand use of GoCardless services in the Subscription and Recurring Billing category. The implementation was driven by the charity's fundraising and supporter engagement objectives and focused on reducing payment friction and transaction costs while increasing recurring revenue.
The deployment emphasized recurring payments orchestration and a simplified donor checkout workflow. Framework shortened its web donation journey from five pages to three, a change that contributed to a 40% shorter online payments journey and a 194% increase in regular giving conversions. Recurring payment capability was reoriented away from card rails toward bank to bank collections to reduce unintentional donor churn and improve payment continuity.
GoCardless Instant Bank Pay was adopted to handle one off payments, leveraging open banking to deliver account to account transfers with faster funds availability and instant payment confirmation. The GoCardless configuration delivered greater transactional visibility and automation, which reduced manual reconciliation work across financial accounts, fundraising campaigns, donor records and Gift Aid processing from approximately two weeks per month to two days.
Operational coverage focused on the charity's fundraising, supporter engagement and finance functions across the East Midlands and Sheffield service areas where Framework operates. Workflow changes included clearer donor acknowledgement flows and visibility into lapsed or at risk donors, enabling rapid remediation of payment failures and improved donor communications. The approach combined checkout optimization, bank payment orchestration and reconciliation automation to align payments processing with charitable operational needs.
The implementation produced explicit benefits reported by Framework, including a 50% reduction in one off payment transaction fees when using Instant Bank Pay compared to cards, 47.65% of all payments collected via GoCardless, and the organisation reporting substantially fewer failed payments. Framework stated that the lower fees and more efficient processes enabled by GoCardless allow the charity to channel funds to services faster and make donated pounds stretch further.

| MHR (formerly MidlandHR) | Legacy | MHR iTrent HR | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017, Framework implemented MHR iTrent HR as its Core HR application. The deployment centralized administration of employee records, payroll transactions and recruitment workflows for the non profit HR team and positioned MHR iTrent HR as the authoritative system of record for Core HR functions.
The implementation covered configuration of reporting functions and security profiles for iTrent users, and established processes to compile payroll information and process all changes to contractual pay and allowances, claim forms, new starters and leavers. The HR team acts as the first point of contact for iTrent support, HR system procedures and general enquiries, and resolves payroll queries related to tax, the Scottish Widows Pension Scheme, universal credit and Childcare vouchers.
Recruitment and onboarding workflows were executed through MHR iTrent HR, including advertising and collation of application forms, interviews, tests and assessments, verbal offers and completion of paperwork. The HR function coordinated with third parties for publication of vacancies on NHS and other websites and boards, and administered all pre employment checks for permanent, temporary and volunteer staff including DBS checks, Right to Work verification, Occupational Health clearance and referencing.
Governance and transactional processes were formalized to support HRBP, the Head of HR and the Senior Leadership Team in processing employee lifecycle events, transfers, promotions and temporary appointments, and to maintain electronic and manual personnel records in accordance with GDPR. The programme also covered administration of staff benefits such as the Cycle to work scheme, production of contracts of employment, inductions, staff ID cards and probation reports, ensuring Framework met statutory requirements.
