In 2025, Franz Oberndorfer GmbH & Co. KG deployed RIB One Prefab, implementing RIB One Prefab as its Construction ERP platform across departments and production sites. As Austria’s largest precast concrete producer with around 1,000 employees and nine manufacturing sites, the company consolidated technical workflows to manage order intake through delivery on a single system.
The implementation centralized core functional modules including cost calculation, transport planning, technical planning, production planning, and planning and time tracking, with production planning scheduled as the final cutover phase. RIB built core precast production process templates in RIB One Prefab, and the system design includes a technician assignment matrix that factors skills, availability, and workload, plus planned capabilities for loading and working tool tracking to ensure correct equipment for each transport.
Integration work focused on a newly developed connector between RIB One Prefab and the company’s commercial ERP, enabling a two application interaction model that now requires a single interface. Data transfer activities moved master and transactional data into RIB One Prefab and into the commercial ERP, and temporary interfaces were used to maintain uninterrupted operations during phased rollouts. The RIB BI+ analysis tool was implemented to unify production and ERP data, support capacity analysis, comparative concrete requirement evaluations, and ingest external databases for combined graphical dashboards.
Governance and rollout followed a step by step site pattern, using the first production site as a pilot for others, and involved meticulous testing and close collaboration between RIB and Oberndorfer teams. IT Project Manager Christian Scheiblehner led the technical implementation, while operations lead Wolfgang Feichter coordinated internal adoption, and the web based architecture provided secure remote access aligned with internal security requirements.
Outcomes noted by the client include widespread praise for robust functionality and a user friendly design, and the implementation has laid the foundation for further automation. Planned next steps explicitly include workflow automations for special transport notifications, automated customer pickup confirmations to free warehouse space, technician assignment automation, and leveraging RIB BI+ for raw material forecasting and procurement insights.
