In 2011, Gateway Housing Association implemented Infor SunSystems as its ERP Financial system. The deployment was scoped to support the organisation's FRS 102 implementation including formal accounting policies, and included a systems review of SunSystems referenced internally as SUN.
The Infor SunSystems implementation focused on core financial management capabilities typical for the ERP Financial category, including configuration of the general ledger, statutory reporting frameworks, chart of accounts alignment to FRS 102, and budgeting constructs to support corporate planning. Functional workstreams addressed month end close controls, journal processing, and financial statement preparation to align with nonprofit reporting requirements.
Business planning was executed in Brixx alongside the Infor SunSystems deployment, with Brixx used for forward looking financial plans and scenario modelling while SunSystems provided transactional and statutory accounting. The systems review of SUN informed configuration decisions and reconciliations between operational ledgers and business planning outputs.
Governance activity accompanied the technical rollout, with accounting policy documentation and process changes formalised to meet FRS 102 requirements, and finance workflow adjustments for period close and reporting governance. The implementation covered finance and business planning functions across Gateway Housing Association and established Infor SunSystems as the authoritative ERP Financial application for statutory accounting and internal planning.

In 2018 Gateway Housing Association implemented MHR iTrent HR as its Core HR application to centralize payroll and HR administration workflows. The deployment was in production on 01 April 2018 and was used to consolidate employee records, payroll processing, statutory reporting and routine HR casework into a single Core HR platform.
The MHR iTrent HR configuration encompassed payroll processing, starter and leaver administration, payslip and P45 P46 P60 generation, statutory pay handling including SSP SMP SHHp, holiday pay, redundancy and payment in lieu of notice processing, and P11D benefits in kind preparation for HMRC submission. The scope included pension management and auto enrolment administration, calculation and recording of court order deductions, council and credit union arrangements, loan variance tracking, wages and pension reconciliations, and monthly payroll reconciliations.
Operational interactions were structured around direct reporting to HMRC and use of BACS for salary payments, with MHR iTrent HR serving as the primary system for preparing submissions and managing enquiries from employees, managers and directors. Finance integration points were procedural, including bank journal reconciliations, sales ledger control, issuing sales invoices and processing BACS payments, with monthly reviews and reconciliations performed in coordination with the finance manager and finance director.
Governance and process workflows were formalized through HR collating departmental information, handling HMRC correspondence and employee enquiries, and routing payroll outputs for review prior to final submission to HMRC. Routine governance activities included chairing finance meetings, attending board meetings for payroll and finance alignment, and maintaining documented payroll and pension reconciliation processes within the MHR iTrent HR Core HR environment.

In 2020 Gateway Housing Association implemented Microsoft 365 as its primary Collaboration platform. The deployment targeted a 200 person nonprofit operating in the United Kingdom, and the organization is using Microsoft 365 on their website to extend collaboration and content delivery to external audiences.
The Microsoft 365 implementation focused on standard collaboration capabilities including cloud email, team chat and meetings, intranet and document management, and per-user file sync and sharing. Configuration work centered on a single Microsoft 365 tenant approach with role based access controls, mailbox and document library provisioning, and standard collaboration policies applied to groups and Teams to support frontline housing services, resident support, communications, and corporate functions.
Operational coverage included desktop and browser access for corporate users and web integration for public facing content, reflecting the note that Microsoft 365 is used on the Gateway Housing Association website. Authentication and identity were consolidated within Microsoft identity services native to the Microsoft 365 environment, enabling centralized account management and single sign on for staff and contractors without introducing external identity vendors.
Governance concentrated on administrative role separation, data retention and information classification aligned to nonprofit regulatory needs, and staged user onboarding to reduce service disruption. Training and adoption efforts emphasized collaborative workflows for case management and communications, while IT maintained centralized tenant administration and policy enforcement for continuity across sites and teams.
