In 2019, Ghazanfar Bank implemented Oracle Flexcube, replacing the Virmati iCBS core banking system. The bank procured a broad Oracle suite covering core, digital experience, lending, payments and financial analytics, positioning Oracle Flexcube at the center of its Core Banking platform across conventional and Islamic product lines.
Oracle Flexcube was configured to deliver core banking ledger and account management, deposit and transaction processing, loan lifecycle management, payments processing, digital channel services and embedded financial analytics. Functional workstreams aligned with standard Core Banking workflows including account opening, transaction posting, settlement and lending operations, and configuration included Islamic finance features to support the bank's Sharia compliant offerings.
The deployment integrated the Flexcube core with digital channels, payments rails and finance reporting capabilities to support retail, corporate, treasury and Islamic banking operations within Afghanistan. Operational coverage spanned front office retail and corporate banking, lending operations and payments, with analytics feeding financial control and reporting functions.
Replacing Virmati iCBS required program level governance, data migration planning and a phased rollout across business functions to maintain transactional continuity and regulatory controls. Change management and workflow redesign concentrated on lending, payments and retail operations to align operational processes with Oracle Flexcube capabilities.
