Microsoft Legacy Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations ERP Financial ERP n/a 2022 2022
In 2022, Global Energy Group implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations as its ERP Financial platform across the group. The rollout encompassed 2 trading and 12 non-trading entities and was led from Aberdeen, Scotland by a dedicated D365F&O project manager overseeing the program schedule and deliverables. Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations configuration work focused on solution build and design, data migration, interface build and testing, user acceptance testing and cutover sequencing. Functional coverage emphasized financial processing and procurement workflows, with targeted configuration for purchase order process changes and the delivery of month end reporting in Financial Reporter. Integration work involved liaising with business and IT teams to deliver and test interfaces between existing systems and Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, and building reporting feeds from the new ERP to support month end close. Reporting requirements were captured and the reporting build progressed to user approval, supporting finance operational needs and month end reporting cadence. Project governance was structured around a central project manager and a test lead, with the project manager coordinating the project team, managing the restart activity and supporting the UAT schedule, progress reporting and closure. The program included change management activities for process redesign, workshops and creation of training materials to drive user adoption and procedural alignment. The project manager reported a successful project restart, with the D365F&O deployment delivered on time and no major issues recorded post go-live, and the UAT testing cycle reaching a successful conclusion. Reporting deliverables were completed, moving from requirements capture through build to user approval, including Financial Reporter month end reports.
