In 2018, Gonzalez Group deployed Ivanti Neurons for IT Asset Management. The implementation targeted a multi-site, multi-division manufacturing IT environment that historically managed roughly 250 actively managed endpoints within an 800 employee company, encompassing servers, switches, PCs, printing, phones, WIFI, firewalls and application licensing.
Gonzalez Group configured Ivanti Neurons for IT Asset Management to provide consolidated discovery, hardware inventory, software inventory, license reconciliation, lifecycle management and software metering workflows. The deployment was aligned to the Hardware Asset Management (HAM),Software Asset Management (SAM),IT Asset Management (ITAM),SaaS Spend Management category set and included automated inventory collection and scheduled reconciliation processes to maintain a single asset repository.
The Ivanti Neurons for IT Asset Management implementation integrated with existing infrastructure components explicitly documented in the environment, including Windows Active Directory for identity and security group alignment and job based directory structures, VMware OPS Manager and SolarWinds Orion NCM for device state, baseline configuration and change context, Veeam backup infrastructure for server state visibility, and Office365 hybrid tenancy for application licensing metadata. The configuration also accepted tagging and authentication signals from Aruba ClearPass for WIFI, Mitel IP phone system metadata for telephony assets, and WYSE management for thin client inventory.
Governance and operational practices were formalized alongside the technical deployment, leveraging AD based security groups for role based access to asset data, an SMTP repository for archiving application generated mail to support developer troubleshooting, and linkage to the existing trouble ticket system for lifecycle events. Operational ownership included IT operations, network, security and helpdesk teams across the multi site environment, with ongoing responsibilities recorded as managing lifecycle and software reporting for 250 endpoints using Ivanti ITAM Suite.
