In 2010 Graymont implemented Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne to support ERP Financial functions across its NY and Quebec operations. Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne served as the ERP Financial backbone for costing, inventory control and financial statement preparation, and it was positioned to provide operational financial data to senior leaders including the President of Materials, Area Operations Managers and the General Manager.
The deployment covered configuration and ongoing maintenance of modules for cost accounting, inventory valuation, and general ledger processing, and included daily production entry workflows maintained through ODE within the JDE accounting system. Functional workstreams included preparation of financial statements, inventory costing analysis, and development of scorecards, reflecting typical ERP Financial capabilities for transactional processing and financial reporting.
Integrations were operationalized with Cognos for reporting and analytics, and the environment was used to produce statutory and regulatory submissions including required data reported to the US Census and other state and federal governments. The implementation also supported accounting system integration work during an acquisition, with JDE serving as a data hub for consolidated financial feeds.
Governance and operational ownership were extended into business process roles, with direct supervision of a four person administrative team, project management responsibility for acquisitions and accounting integrations, and establishment of metrics to measure and reduce costs. The role acted as liaison with corporate office for human resource communications and coordinated troubleshooting with the Corporate IT department, embedding operational governance into the ERP Financial workflows.
Graymont used Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne to centralize costing, inventories and financial reporting business functions, while operational responsibilities included ongoing maintenance of production entries, data provisioning to JDE and Cognos, and support for managers by delivering cost and financial analyses.
