Operational management centered on application support and availability within the organization, with internal administration of application-level configuration and user support. The implementation encompassed standard ERP Financial capabilities typical for the category, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable workflows, and financial reporting and reconciliation processes, which were administered by the internal support team.
The Acumatica Cloud ERP instance operated within an IT stack that included virtualization and desktop infrastructure, notably Azure virtual desktops and a redesigned VMware Horizon virtual desktop environment, enterprise storage on Pure Storage Array and 3Par systems, and PRTG monitoring for alerting and notifications. Service management for application incidents and requests was formalized through Freshservice, which was deployed to replace a prior service desk tool and expanded to onboard other departments using request forms and automated workflows.
Governance and process changes were instituted through ITIL processes, including change control, asset management and problem management applied across IT Operations, which governed how Acumatica Cloud ERP changes, incidents and asset tracking were handled. Operational integrations and device coverage included OMS-500 mailing software, a Neopost inserter, a postage meter and multiple production printers, with day to day interactions with USPS and UPS for shipment execution and exception handling. The mailroom scope covered company wide shipping needs and staffed operations where one primary operator managed mailroom activity and allocated work for two additional employees as needed.
Governance and process changes focused on inventory control, scheduling equipment maintenance and troubleshooting device failures to minimize wasted time with service repair appointments. Detailed handoff and record keeping practices were established to ensure shipping costs could be tracked and billed to the appropriate departments, preserving auditability for finance and operational teams.
