In 2018, Grupo Ageas Portugal implemented Duck Creek Insights as part of a broader Duck Creek Suite deployment, positioning Duck Creek Insights as its Analytics and BI application to support Policy, Claims and Billing business functions. The implementation targeted consolidation of Ocidental and AGEAS data estates, and the rollout was planned as a group level analytics layer to unify underwriting, claims adjudication and billing reporting workflows.
Duck Creek Insights was configured to deliver reporting, dashboarding and ad hoc analytics capabilities, with data modeling and scheduled extract load processes to feed a centralized analytics repository. The installation aligned Insights with the Duck Creek Policy, Claims and Billing modules so operational transaction feeds could power analytics, and the application name Duck Creek Insights appears throughout the configuration and reporting layers.
The deployment used a hybrid architecture combining Microsoft Azure cloud and on premise infrastructure, with primary data sources on Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases and document integration points to FileNet and a RedDoc archive. Implementation work included migration and consolidation of data and content from distinct infrastructures, construction of ETL pipelines into the analytics store and configuration of backup storage infrastructure to support the central analytics footprint.
Governance and operational ownership centered on the internal DBA organization, with database administration teams responsible for SQL Server and Oracle administration, database migration and patching projects, licensing and budgeting control, and backup management. Rollout and ongoing support were embedded in existing IT processes for document management and database operations, and Duck Creek Insights was instrumented to operate within that governed operational model.
