In 2016 Grupo Poli implemented MCG ECON AFC, the ERP Financial application from Management Consultance Group, to centralize finance and wholesale accounting functions. The deployment targeted back-office finance, wholesale sales accounting and cash management processes across the company retail and cash and carry operations, aligning the MCG ECON AFC application with existing wholesale application ownership.
MCG ECON AFC was configured to deliver core ERP Financial workflows including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable processes, and document management interfacing. Configuration work emphasized integration points for pricing and sales data, and the implementation leveraged application-level automation to connect transactional finance records with retail and warehouse operations.
The implementation was deployed on the company IBM Power i infrastructure and incorporated enterprise operational components already managed by the IT application owner. Integrations explicitly included MeRSy ERP connections into the ECON Suite, WebGate from webgateItalia for web gateway functionality, and JDoc Documentale for electronic document management, with cross-environment data replication supported by Smartdata from Precisely. System-level controls included iSecurity installation, BRMS and tape library management, and high availability configuration using Quick EDD on Power i.
Operational governance encompassed key user training, ongoing user support, and system administration responsibilities under GDPR compliance managed by the internal application owner. The deployment targeted wholesale retail operations and included automation of five warehouses and a processing laboratory using Sesa Me.R.Sy ERP on an IBM Power i infrastructure, with high availability and data replication components introduced to support continuous operations.
The implementation covered core Retail Management functional modules including EDI, food traceability, wholesale sales network management, logistics application management, cash and carry front end integration via MCash, and voice picking. The program included verticalizations and custom configuration to support store picking workflows, online order ingestion, and mobile tablet based agent sales, with focused development and SQL level optimization to tune third party software performance.
Sesa Me.R.Sy ERP was integrated with a broad set of existing systems explicitly listed by the customer, including 4PRICE from NTT Data for pricing, BOARD BI for analytics, Vocollect from Honeywell for voice picking, Shop Online and Store Picking from Digitelematica for online orders and in store picking, SIGEP Transport from Gep Informatica for transport logistics, ECON Suite 2 from MCG Consulting via WebGate, JDoc document management from Enerj, Nxi Sales from Nexus Informatica for sales support, and Smartdata from Precisely for heterogeneous data replication. The rollout also replaced SIAD from Sipe Informatica in warehouse automation workstreams and included integration with MCash provided by Wincor Nixdorf for cash and carry front end operations.
Operational governance and application management were centralized under a Responsabile Software Applicativo, responsible for key user training, user support, GDPR system administration, system hardening, and management of IBM Power i components such as BRMS, tape libraries, iSecurity implementation, and high availability using Quick EDD with system delocalization. The implementation narrative emphasizes system integration, orchestration of logistics and sales workflows, and ongoing application ownership for retail operations rather than quantified outcomes.
