| Siemens Digital Industries Software | Legacy | Siemens NX Advanced FEM | Computer-Aided Design (CAD) | PLM and Engineering | n/a | 2013 | 2015 | In 2013, Guangxi Yuchai Group implemented Siemens NX Advanced FEM as part of a coordinated NX, Simcenter 3D and Teamcenter rollout to establish an analysis-driven R&D and CAE process. The deployment placed Siemens NX Advanced FEM at the center of the companys Computer-Aided Design (CAD) environment to support engineering simulation and product development workflows across the organization. The Siemens NX Advanced FEM implementation covered structural, fluid, thermal and motion analysis capabilities, with configuration focused on multi-physics simulation workflows and solver orchestration typical of advanced FEM tooling. The setup consolidated pre processing, meshing and post processing workflows inside NX Advanced FEM and aligned simulation models with Simcenter 3D for deeper CAE analysis continuity. Integrations tied Siemens NX Advanced FEM to Simcenter 3D for extended simulation capabilities and to Teamcenter for PLM data management and process control, creating a continuous loop between CAD authoring, CAE execution and product lifecycle governance. Operational coverage was across the R&D organization in China, impacting engineering, CAE teams and product development functions by centralizing models and simulation artifacts within the PLM backbone. Governance and workflow restructuring used Teamcenter to manage simulation data, versioning and release processes, enabling standardized CAE procedures and traceability across projects. The case study reports that the combined NX, Simcenter 3D and Teamcenter program shortened time to market, improved product quality and reduced development costs, reflecting explicit business outcomes attributed to the Siemens NX Advanced FEM led R&D and CAE modernization. | |
