In 2023, Gusto implemented Deepnote for Analytics and BI to centralize People Analytics workflows within its People Analytics & Insights team in the United States. The deployment established Deepnote as the primary environment for running SQL and predictive analyses and for publishing notebooks and apps targeted at non-technical stakeholders.
Deepnote was configured to host collaborative SQL workspaces and reproducible analysis, enabling shared notebooks and interactive applications that surface people metrics and predictive models. The configuration emphasized notebook-based workflows, parameterized queries, and curated artifacts to make analyses consumable by HR partners and business leaders.
The implementation integrated Deepnote with Amazon Redshift, PostgreSQL and Tableau to provide direct access to HR data and to persist analysis outputs into visualization layers. Connectors and query interfaces were used to run SQL against Redshift and PostgreSQL and to publish or export results for Tableau dashboards and stakeholder consumption.
Operational scope concentrated on the People Analytics & Insights team across the United States, with rollout activities aimed at expanding access for less-technical staff and improving SQL skills within HR analytics processes. Governance centered on shared notebooks, controlled publishing, and collaborative review practices to increase visibility and coordination across people analytics workflows.
