In 2018, Gusto implemented Gusto HR as its Core HR application. The deployment is delivered as a cloud-hosted, web-embedded Gusto HR instance surfaced on Gusto's corporate website to provide employee self-service and HR administration. The implementation supports company-wide HR operations for Gusto's United States workforce of approximately 2400 employees.
Gusto HR was configured to deliver standard Core HR capabilities, including centralized employee records, organizational hierarchy and role definitions, onboarding workflows, time-off and leave tracking, and benefits administration. The configuration includes compliance-oriented personnel data capture and configurable reporting to support HR operational workflows.
The Gusto HR instance is surfaced through the corporate site to enable self-service workflows and to integrate with internal HR processes, serving HR and People Operations teams. The implementation leverages the web-native interface of Gusto HR to embed employee access and administrative workflows into existing People Operations practices.
Governance for Gusto HR emphasizes centralized administrative roles and role-based access controls, with HR administrators responsible for data stewardship and employee lifecycle management. Process workstreams were standardized around the application to consolidate onboarding, leave management, and core personnel recordkeeping within Gusto HR.

Deepnote was configured to host collaborative SQL workspaces and reproducible analysis, enabling shared notebooks and interactive applications that surface people metrics and predictive models. The configuration emphasized notebook-based workflows, parameterized queries, and curated artifacts to make analyses consumable by HR partners and business leaders.
The implementation integrated Deepnote with Amazon Redshift, PostgreSQL and Tableau to provide direct access to HR data and to persist analysis outputs into visualization layers. Connectors and query interfaces were used to run SQL against Redshift and PostgreSQL and to publish or export results for Tableau dashboards and stakeholder consumption.
Operational scope concentrated on the People Analytics & Insights team across the United States, with rollout activities aimed at expanding access for less-technical staff and improving SQL skills within HR analytics processes.
