In 2014 Hallmarq Veterinary Imaging implemented OrderWise Inventory Management to standardize inventory and stock control across its manufacturing, service and logistics operations, using the Inventory Management application to support procurement, stores and manufacturing workflows. The implementation targeted operational functions responsible for producing and supporting standing equine MRI scanners, with the operations team leading project management, logistics, stock management and procurement activities.
OrderWise Inventory Management was configured to manage core inventory control processes including goods received notes, purchase order management, pick and pack operations, build of materials picking for manufacturing, and work in progress reporting. The solution produced monthly stock valuation reports for accounts and supported an annual stock take and regular audits, while tracking a managed inventory portfolio with a stated stock value around 400k and stores across three locations.
Operational scope extended across manufacturing, support and service, development, procurement and logistics, and the application supported export and shipping workflows for large crate shipments worldwide through documentation such as commercial invoices and collection and delivery notes. OrderWise Inventory Management was used to schedule long lead item procurement in line with manufacturing timelines and to ensure parts availability for installation schedules, reflecting coordination between inventory control and project delivery activities.
Governance and process changes included formalizing stores and warehouse procedures so processes were understood by all, running WIP reports for accounts, maintaining monthly valuation reporting, performing regular stock audits and annual stock takes, and documenting site setup and handover procedures for installations. Internal reporting and controls were described as supporting excellent stock management, while procurement practices encompassed supplier selection, purchase order issuance, delivery date management and returns handling.
