In 2016 Haselden Construction completed a year-long implementation of Viewpoint Vista, adopting a SQL-based accounting and project management ERP. The implementation was executed while a key team member relocated to Lincoln, Nebraska and continued in a remote capacity to finalize the project. The deployment targeted Haselden Construction's accounting and project controls workflows, aligning the chosen Construction ERP with company financial and project management practices.
Viewpoint Vista was configured to support core accounting ledgers, job costing, project management modules, accounts payable processes, and subcontractor payment workflows. Configuration efforts included chart of accounts alignment, job and cost code mapping, project-centric billing setups, and role-based security to separate field and office responsibilities. The team emphasized configuring project reporting and transaction flow to support construction-specific accounting and project controls.
The technical scope included an Oracle to SQL database conversion to move transactional history into the SQL-based Viewpoint Vista environment. The project implemented multiple third-party integrations for payroll, subcontractor insurance compliance, and subcontractor payments, and one payroll vendor required highly coordinated planning and testing to align the go-live with weekly payroll cycles. Integration testing, cutover planning, and go-live coordination were key technical activities to protect payroll and payment continuity.
As part of the implementation team Haselden developed software-driven processes that mapped internal workflows into Viewpoint Vista and restructured governance around project financial controls and subcontractor onboarding.
