Microsoft Legacy Microsoft Dynamics GP ERP Financial ERP n/a 2010 2011
In 2010 Henry Bath & Son implemented Microsoft Dynamics GP as its ERP Financial system. The deployment focused on the finance organization within the distribution business, providing a single accounting application to support the UK head office and a Netherlands subsidiary for statutory and management accounting. Microsoft Dynamics GP was configured to operate core financial modules including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets and bank reconciliation, and to support VAT and EC list reporting. The system was used for month end routines such as trial balance preparation, income statement and balance sheet production, cash flow reporting, accruals and prepayments, suspense account resolution, and revenue recognition postings. Operational use centered on the management accountant and a small finance team, who used Microsoft Dynamics GP to produce monthly results, budgets, forecasts, variance analysis, debtor and creditor reporting, approval of purchase batches, and weekly payment processing. The application supported cross border accounting requirements and intercompany transaction processing, and was the system of record for the fixed assets register and bank reconciliations for both UK and Netherlands reporting. Governance and workflow controls were formalized inside the Microsoft Dynamics GP environment, including documented monthly balance sheet reconciliations, payment approval controls, and structured reporting to the financial controller and head office. Day to day responsibilities executed through the ERP Financial application included VAT and tax return preparation, statutory accounts preparation for the Netherlands subsidiary under UK and Dutch GAAP, supervision of accounts staff, and liaison between local offices and head office.

IBM Legacy IBM Cognos TM1 EPM EPM n/a 2005 2005
In 2005 Henry Bath & Son implemented IBM Cognos TM1 as its enterprise planning and reporting solution within the EPM category, deploying the application to support group budgeting, rolling forecasts and dynamic daily forecasts. The implementation was driven by the Group CFO and finance leadership to centralise financial planning and to provide timely consolidated inputs for board reporting and daily mark to market processes. IBM Cognos TM1 was positioned as the authoritative planning layer for the finance function, linking operational forecasts to corporate reporting workflows. The deployment centered on a Cognos Planning Analyst TM1 reporting system configured with multi dimensional planning models and rules based calculations to support P and L forecasting, balance sheet tracking and cash flow planning. Functional capabilities implemented included budgeting, rolling forecast management and consolidation logic, with automated aggregation and model driven scenario planning used by head office finance and regional accountants. The IBM Cognos TM1 application produced daily forecast views and supported routine refreshes of rolling forecasts. Integration work connected IBM Cognos TM1 into the parent company daily mark to market reporting systems to enable group level consolidation, and the solution was used to generate inputs required for statutory accounts and audit sign off. Operational coverage extended across the head office finance team and five global administrative centres, and the application supported coordination with overseas accountants in the US, Antwerp, Turkey, Italy, Malaysia, Taiwan and China. TM1 output was also used to inform monthly reporting cycles and to support FX hedging assessment and scenario analysis during M and A activity. Governance and process changes accompanied the rollout, with the group moving to a centralised operating model and an enhanced control framework aligned to a corporate banking control environment under CFO oversight. IBM Cognos TM1 standardized workflows for budget submission, forecast refresh and consolidation across sites, and explicitly enabled dynamic daily forecasts and consolidation into the parent mark to market reporting environment while supporting the preparation and audit sign off of group statutory accounts.
