In 2013, Hickory implemented Epicor EAM, an Enterprise Asset Management application, to formalize asset and procurement controls across its construction and real estate operations. The deployment targeted purchasing and maintenance workflows and was positioned to support procurement, production and manufacturing stakeholders alongside ERP management teams.
Configuration work concentrated on EAM-aligned functional modules including asset registry and hierarchy, work order management and maintenance scheduling, spare parts and inventory controls, and purchasing workflow configuration. The implementation emphasized formulation and development of purchasing strategies within Epicor EAM, with configuration of approval routing and procurement transaction processing consistent with Enterprise Asset Management practices.
Operational integration focused on synchronizing asset and procurement data with the company ERP and production controls, as evidenced by close collaboration with procurement, production, manufacturing and ERP managers during build and roll out. Governance was structured around cross-functional ownership of purchasing strategy, with those stakeholder groups involved in both design and implementation phases to align operational processes with the Epicor EAM application.
