In 2019, Higuchi implemented GLOVIA iZ from FUJITSU GLOVIA as its Manufacturing ERP platform. The initiative aimed to capture individual business know-how in-system so that any user can execute specialist tasks and to support stable 24 hours a day, 365 days a year global access from locations including Los Angeles and China.
The deployment focused on GLOVIA iZ Accounting/Sales/Trade functionality, with configuration work to model estimates, ordering, sales, billing, accounting, and inventory controls that previously relied on person-dependent supplementary ledgers. Project work used a fit and gap approach, analyzing each process and iterating specifications with process owners to embed product and department specific know-how into system workflows.
Higuchi chose a cloud-hosted architecture to meet business continuity requirements, and GLOVIA iZ’s integrated database became the common platform unifying business-division and finance data. That centralization removed spreadsheet handoffs and manual re-entry between business and finance, enabling more direct coordination across estimates, orders, sales, billing, and accounting.
Governance shifted toward standardized, system-enforced workflows while preserving configurable logic for unavoidable specialization, enabling the company to inherit and institutionalize tacit knowledge. The information systems department assumed a help-desk-like advisory role to support proper processing of irregular transactions and to reinforce standardized procedures.
As an outcome of the GLOVIA iZ deployment Higuchi reports elimination of dependence on individual skills, a reported 40 percent reduction in finance department accounting workload, an approximately 30 percent increase in processing capacity per existing staff, and an overall efficiency improvement of about 50 percent across upstream and downstream processes. The implementation positioned GLOVIA iZ as the Manufacturing ERP platform centralizing operational know-how and improving resilience.
