In 2024, HomePro implemented Odoo Open Source ERP as an ERP Financial platform to centralize finance and operational workflows. HomePro is a Texas based provider of home security, entertainment, and control systems with approximately 250 employees, supporting 250 builder partners, monitoring 37,000 homes and processing roughly 125,000 payment lines per year, and the implementation was sized to address that operational scale.
The deployment delivered a consolidated application footprint that combined sales order processing, project management for installations, warehouse management system functionality, inventory control for installers, and product lifecycle tracking. Odoo Open Source ERP was configured with automation and user experience improvements, and the implementation included BI and reporting layers, monitoring and system refresh processes, and a library of 43 AI bots to automate repeatable tasks.
Integration work focused on API integrations to connect Odoo Open Source ERP into HomePro’s operational landscape and existing customer portals supporting 200 portal users. Operational coverage extended across installation crews, field service scheduling, monitoring operations, and finance, aligning project management workflows with inventory availability and billing processes to support diverse business lines including security, low and high voltage wiring, and emerging solar services.
Governance and rollout were driven by joint workshops and a staged, requirements first approach led by Open Source Integrators, known as OSI, emphasizing organizational decision governance, changeable configuration to preserve flexibility, and role based usability. The engagement produced a single operating platform for multiple business lines, described by HomePro as streamlining operations and future proofing their architecture, while establishing an ongoing partnership model for support and iterative evolution.
