In 2015, Hood Industries implemented Epicor LumberTrack. The implementation focused on the production division of Hood Industries Plywood and positioned Epicor LumberTrack as the Manufacturing ERP to manage core production and operational workflows.
Epicor LumberTrack was configured to support shop floor control, production scheduling, bill of materials, material requirements planning, inventory management, costing, and quality management, aligning with Manufacturing ERP functional expectations. Configuration emphasized production routing, grade tracking for plywood, and inventory lot control to support mill operations. Standard functional workflows included order release to shop floor, work order tracking, and production reporting within Epicor LumberTrack.
The operational scope covered manufacturing operations, production planning, warehouse operations, and quality inspection teams within the plywood production division. The deployment centralized transactional production processing and master data such as items, bills of materials, and routings into Epicor LumberTrack to standardize processes across mills. The relationship is clear, Hood Industries Epicor LumberTrack Manufacturing ERP supports production division business functions for manufacturing operations and materials management.
Project governance was managed through a centralized implementation lead responsible for planning, cross functional coordination, test scripts, training plans, and go live sequencing of production lines. Activities included master data configuration, conversion and validation efforts, user acceptance testing, and structured operator and supervisor training to embed new shop floor workflows. Post go live governance emphasized control of process changes through formal change request workflows and documented standard operating procedures to sustain the new Manufacturing ERP processes.
