Iptor Legacy Iptor SCM Supply Chain Management SCM n/a 2019 2020
In 2019, Johns Hopkins University Press implemented Iptor SCM to stabilize electronic data interchange as part of its Supply Chain Management environment across U.S. publishing and fulfilment operations. Project discussions began in 2016 with alignment to start in early 2019, and the full solution was reported in operation by the end of 2020. The deployment centralized EDI processing on Iptor’s DC1 EDI Exchange, replacing the prior IP1 EDI implementation to consolidate transaction routing, reduce false alerts, and improve reporting and monitoring. Functional capabilities implemented included EDI communications stabilization, transaction monitoring, and enhanced reporting for order and fulfillment workflows, with configuration targeted at lowering IT and customer service effort. Integrations were focused on Iptor SCM and the DC1 EDI Exchange to support publisher to distributor messaging within the United States, with operational coverage concentrated on publishing and fulfilment business functions. Governance changes introduced centralized monitoring and alerting and revised CSR and IT triage workflows to reduce lost documents and false positives, outcomes cited in the case study.
