Operational ownership was placed with HR and talent acquisition, where PageUp ATS became the primary system for applicant submission and candidate lifecycle management across Hoyts Australia. Workplace by Facebook was used as a Collaboration platform delivering core capabilities such as a company News Feed, team and cinema-specific groups, Workplace Chat, mobile app access, Live Video, and media sharing for photos and GIFs. Configuration emphasized mobile-first access and group hierarchies for cinema teams, promotional planning, and corporate announcement channels, enabling two-way communication and peer-to-peer sharing of best practices and merchandising ideas.
The rollout was completed in 90 days and relied on organic adoption driven by employees familiar with Facebook, which reduced formal training requirements. The implementation covered operational communications across all cinemas and head office, and it affected People, Performance and Culture functions, front-line operations, and marketing collaboration around movie launches and merchandising.
Governance relied on moderated company-wide groups and channel structures to surface HQ announcements while enabling frontline feedback and cross-cinema collaboration. Reported operational metrics included approximately 2,000 active weekly users, 100 active weekly groups, 390 weekly posts, and 680 weekly comments and responses, supporting improved visibility, collaboration, and employee engagement across Hoyts.
