In 2006, Hulsey Oliver & Mahar implemented SoftPro as its Real Estate Property Management application to support title, closing, and litigation support workflows. Deployment focused on a firm-level installation for a 25-person professional services firm, with operational coverage concentrated on a two-attorney practice and floater staff who handled transaction intake and day-to-day file management.
SoftPro was used for preparing closing documents, assembling title commitments, disbursing closing packages, and managing diary entries and pleadings indexes. Functional workflows explicitly included preparing discoveries, drafting letters and pleadings, managing dictaphone and transcription inputs, and maintaining a Pleadings Index, indicating configuration for document assembly and template-driven correspondence within the application.
The implementation was integrated operationally with Microsoft Word for document generation, Outlook for calendar and email communications, and Worldox for document indexing and retrieval. Adoption documents and process artifacts were prepared to formalize diary maintenance, file organization, appointment scheduling, payoff request workflows with banks and financial institutions, and role assignments that split responsibilities between two attorneys and floater staff who later received internal promotion.
