Hypertherm Technographics, Software Purchases, AI and Digital Transformation Initiatives
Discover the latest software purchases and digital transformation initiatives being undertaken by Hypertherm and its business and technology executives. Each quarter our research team identifies on-prem and cloud applications that are being used by the 2000 Hypertherm employees from the public (Press Releases, Customer References, Testimonials, Case Studies and Success Stories) and proprietary sources.
During our research, we have identified that Hypertherm has purchased the following applications: Oracle E-Business Suite for ERP Financial in 2003, Workday HCM for Core HR in 2022, Oracle Fusion Cloud Manufacturing for Manufacturing ERP in 2017 and the related IT decision-makers and key stakeholders.
Our database provides customer insight and contextual information on which enterprise applications and software systems Hypertherm is running and its propensity to invest more and deepen its relationship with Oracle , Workday , BlueVolt or identify new suppliers as part of their overall Digital and IT transformation projects to stay competitive, fend off threats from disruptive forces, or comply with internal mandates to improve overall enterprise efficiency.
We have been analyzing Hypertherm revenues, which have grown to $1.57 billion in 2024, plus its IT budget and roadmap, cloud software purchases, aggregating massive amounts of data points that form the basis of our forecast assumptions for Hypertherm intention to invest in emerging technologies such as AI, Machine Learning, IoT, Blockchain, Autonomous Database or in cloud-based ERP, HCM, CRM, EPM, Procurement or Treasury applications.

| Oracle | Legacy | Oracle E-Business Suite | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2003 | 2004 |
In 2003 Hypertherm implemented Oracle E-Business Suite as its core ERP platform. In late 2021 Hypertherm engaged Innovate Tax to extend VAT automation across Europe and Asia, aligning tax processing with a new shared service centre to centralize indirect tax administration and reporting within its Oracle environment.
The implementation focused on configuring Oracle E-Business Suite to support rule-based tax determination and enhanced reporting, leveraging pre-built tax content that covers more than 150 countries. Key functional capabilities implemented include automated VAT determination, tailored tax logic and reporting models, and standardized tax determination workflows to replace a previously rate-driven setup that limited global consistency.
Integration work was explicitly contained within Hypertherm’s existing Oracle ERP, avoiding the need for an external tax engine interface. The rollout was phased across identified jurisdictions, with Poland, Netherlands, the UK, Germany, China and Singapore included in the scope, and three of the six countries fully integrated to date. Operational coverage centered on the corporate tax department, IT stakeholders and the shared service centre responsible for VAT management.
Governance and process changes accompanied the technical configuration, establishing a single-location shared service model for VAT, standardized determination and reporting procedures, and a managed support relationship with Innovate Tax. This support desk arrangement reduced the maintenance burden on Hypertherm’s internal Oracle specialists, while providing a controlled channel for content updates, bug fixes and classifications maintenance.
Early outcomes reported by Hypertherm include substantial improvements in data accuracy for processed transactions, standardized tax determination and reporting across covered jurisdictions, and assurance that input VAT opportunities are being captured. The company reported that automating previously manual invoice processes produced a financial return close to 100% ROI within the first year of the implementation. Oracle E-Business Suite ERP Financial now serves as Hypertherm’s centralized platform for indirect tax management, supporting the business function of VAT determination and reporting.

| Workday | Legacy | Workday HCM | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2022 | 2022 |
In 2022 Hypertherm implemented Workday HCM to centralize Core HR functions across its global, associate owned manufacturing operations. The deployment positions Workday HCM as the primary Core HR platform for HR administration, talent management, learning, performance and time and absence management.
Configuration and module coverage emphasize Workday Learning, Talent, Performance, Time and Absence functionality, with the HRMS team responsible for business process configuration, ongoing system enhancements, and feature deployment. The environment requires cyclic maintenance aligned to Workday bi annual releases, and the team conducts regression testing and configuration validation to preserve system integrity. Workday HCM is used to instrument dashboards and reporting, supporting end user metrics and data reconciliation.
Operational ownership sits with an internal Workday HRMS Analyst function that acts as system administrator, project lead for HR annual processes and new functionality, and a liaison to HR functional teams and organizational leaders. Support and governance include regular system audits, discrepancy reconciliation to ensure data consistency, process documentation, and end user training, with the role operating remotely in the United States and periodic travel to Hypertherm corporate headquarters in New Hampshire.
Governance and workflow responsibilities combine technical configuration and HR process analysis, with analysts expected to translate HR requirements into Workday business process configurations and to recommend opportunities to streamline and simplify user experience. The implementation narrative centers on Workday HCM delivering Core HR capabilities, with ongoing administration, release management, testing, reporting and training embedded into Hypertherm operational governance.

| Oracle | Legacy | Oracle Fusion Cloud Manufacturing | Manufacturing ERP | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017, Hypertherm engaged a Cloud Supply Chain Solutions Architect to design the roadmap and planning for Oracle Fusion Cloud Manufacturing, positioning Oracle Fusion Cloud Manufacturing as its Manufacturing ERP initiative. The engagement was executed from Hanover, NH and included a specific Waterjet Oracle rollout at New Brighton, MN, focusing on cloud deployment planning for discrete manufacturing operations and industrial cutting systems.
The scope covered Oracle Cloud modules for Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management and Procurement, with deliverables that included solution design documents for new and existing business process flows and feasibility design documentation. Workstreams emphasized manufacturing execution and production planning capabilities, procurement lifecycles, and SCM process orchestration consistent with Manufacturing ERP functional patterns.
Technical work produced cloud reference architectures, governance policies, security models and documented best practices for Oracle Cloud operations, together with systems design, feasibility and cost studies to recommend cost effective cloud approaches. The team was trained on Procurement and SCM Cloud changes and architecture to align operational users and IT with the target Oracle Fusion Cloud Manufacturing configuration.
Governance and rollout planning included a three to five year roadmap for Oracle Cloud implementation, staged solution design artifacts, and feasibility assessments to guide phased adoption across manufacturing and supply chain functions. Operational coverage explicitly targeted manufacturing, procurement and supply chain business functions at the Hanover, NH site and the New Brighton, MN Waterjet operations, without naming external implementation partners.
