Microsoft Microsoft Dynamics AX Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations ERP Financial ERP n/a 2018 2019
In 2018 IHS Towers migrated from Microsoft Dynamics AX to Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations. The project was executed as an ERP Financial implementation, consolidating core accounting and financial management into Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations to support centralized finance operations. Configuration work focused on standard ERP Financial capabilities, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed asset management, intercompany accounting, and financial reporting engines. The deployment emphasized module configuration, chart of accounts harmonization, and role based security to align transaction flows with finance process controls. Operational scope targeted corporate finance, accounting, and treasury functions, standardizing transactions and financial close activities within the Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations environment. The approach organized finance workflows around the application modules to reduce manual reconciliation and to centralize financial data models. Governance and access control were formalized during rollout, with segregation of duties and security policy enforced through role based access control. Mick Allen served as security manager for Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations at IHS Towers from May 2018 to August 2019, leading SOD rules configuration, user entitlement reviews, and security governance during the implementation and early stabilization period.
