In 2011 Impark Canada implemented J.P. Morgan Chase Paymentech as its Payment Processing provider to accept credit and debit including Interac across more than 1,600 parking lots in Canada. The project was scoped as a finance and payments rollout focused on broadening vendor certification, reducing integration complexity with parking equipment vendors, and improving online reporting to streamline accounting.
The J.P. Morgan Chase Paymentech deployment concentrated on merchant acquiring and payment gateway functions, enabling onsite card acceptance through integrated terminal interfaces and transaction routing for credit and Interac debit. Configuration work emphasized merchant account provisioning, settlement and batch reconciliation workflows, and online reporting capabilities for finance teams.
Integrations targeted the existing parking equipment vendor ecosystem, with a vendor certification program to standardize terminal interfaces and reduce bespoke point of sale integrations. Operational coverage extended across more than 1,600 parking lots in Canada and affected finance, payments operations and accounting processes.
Governance included vendor certification and coordination between payment operations and parking operations teams for staged rollout and compliance with card network requirements. The implementation delivered improved online reporting to streamline accounting and lowered integration complexity with equipment vendors as part of the stated objectives.
