In 2019, Ims Gear implemented GFOS Employee Scheduling, a Workforce Scheduling application. The GFOS Employee Scheduling deployment consolidated time tracking and access functions and introduced qualification-based employee scheduling for approximately 1,300 production employees across multiple plants in Germany.
Configuration focused on qualification-driven rostering and optimized shift planning across many working-time models, embedding rules for certifications and role eligibility into scheduling logic. The implementation unified HR and production scheduling data to eliminate duplicate records and provide a single source of workforce availability and qualifications. Functional capabilities implemented included time capture alignment with access control and shift template management for complex working-time models.
Operational coverage targeted HR and production planners and managers across several German plants, enabling planners to build optimized rosters and allowing managers and staff increased transparency into assignments and qualifications. Governance changes emphasized centralization of scheduling rules and responsibilities within planner teams to maintain qualification matrices and working-time configurations. Reported outcomes included improved clarity, elimination of duplicate data across systems, and increased efficiency for planners together with greater transparency for managers and staff.
