In 2017, Indeed Japan implemented Ascender WorkCloud, Apps Category , to centralize payroll and HR processing for its Japan operations and broader APAC payroll activities. The deployment targeted payroll execution and HR data orchestration to reduce manual transactions and streamline backend payroll processes identified as major pain points during growth.
The implementation configured Ascender WorkCloud with Ascender Connect to ingest and reconcile large volumes of payroll and HR data, and to expose employee self service access and payroll team interfaces. Functional capabilities emphasized in the rollout included payroll calculation and execution workflows, data integration pipelines, and employee information access consistent with payroll and HR operating models.
The program integrated Ascender WorkCloud into Indeed Japan’s existing ecosystem, relying on Ascender Connect for data movement and working with the Ceridian team for implementation coordination across three time zones. Operational coverage included payroll and HR teams across the APAC region, with configuration and process work focused on reducing manual transaction steps and improving compatibility with local Japan requirements.
Governance and rollout were managed with a scheduled implementation cadence and collaborative support from Ceridian, which contributed knowledge and cross‑timezone coordination to complete the project on schedule. Post implementation outcomes explicitly reported included improved integration of payroll and HR data, and realized cost and time savings along with a better employee experience for payroll related services.
