In 2021, INE deployed the Auronix Platform to power Inés, an intelligent virtual assistant designed to inform voters in the run up to the June 6, 2021 elections. The Auronix Platform was implemented as a CPaaS (Communication Platform as a Service) solution and integrated directly with WhatsApp, forming a conversational messaging channel for official electoral communications.
The implementation combined conversational AI and message orchestration capabilities typical of CPaaS deployments, enabling campaign messaging, automated conversational flows, and high-throughput message routing to support voter information outreach across Mexico. The project was a partnership between Auronix and INE with WhatsApp integration, launched on May 23, 2021 and operated during the 2021 election period, during which Inés interacted with around 600,000 people and exchanged nearly 10 million messages.
