In 2019, Inetum implemented Pentaho to centralize project reporting and analytics for project managers, aligning the deployment with the Analytics and BI category to support activity indicator reporting and data recovery workflows. Inetum Pentaho Analytics and BI was positioned to deliver OLAP reporting and self-service access to project-level metrics for operational teams.
The implementation leveraged OLAP Mondrian for cube processing, Saiku Analytics for interactive query and analysis, and CDF tools for dashboard composition, with Pentaho serving as the core reporting and orchestration layer. Configuration work focused on building reusable OLAP schemas, report templates, and data extraction paths that allowed project managers to retrieve time series and activity indicators without bespoke queries.
A proof of concept targeted an improved internationalization mechanism for JIRA, with the objective to define labels at the project level and surface localized metadata into the reporting layer. The POC integrated localized label definitions from JIRA into Pentaho reports and dashboards to support per-project labeling and multilingual report presentation.
Governance and rollout emphasized BI concept alignment, report cataloging, and role based access for project managers and program leads, with operational scope centered on project management functions. The implementation explicitly enabled easier recovery of project data by project managers and the production of activity indicator reports, while the JIRA i18n POC scoped project level label management for future localization work.
