In 2020, Infratil implemented Datacom DataPay for Payroll to centralize end to end payroll processing within its HR function. The Datacom DataPay deployment was positioned to support timely pays for local and expatriate employees and contractors while embedding statutory payroll calculations and compliance controls across the organisation.
The implementation covered core Payroll capabilities including full monthly and fortnightly payrun scheduling, payroll administration for new hires and leavers, timesheet and attendance processing, leave and long service leave accounting, bonus and salary review processing, student loan and superannuation handling, and tax and statutory deductions calculation. Datacom DataPay was configured to apply jurisdictional payroll rules and payroll posting feeds to downstream reporting, supporting internal management reporting and finance close activities.
Operational interactions explicitly included liaison with external payroll providers and banking partners to coordinate pay runs and remittances, and provision of payroll data to the Finance team for year end reporting and audit support. The deployment was managed within a small HR/Payroll team reporting to Remuneration and Benefits leadership, with responsibilities for international assignments, transfers, promotions and terminations workflows and employee payroll queries.
Governance around Datacom DataPay emphasized adherence to employment law and Group policy, risk management and business continuity strategies, and regular process reviews to drive improvements. The system was used as the primary Payroll application to deliver consistent payroll administration, provide professional payroll advisory to managers and executives, and support external audit and compliance requirements.

In 2015, Infratil implemented Microsoft SharePoint as its Enterprise Content Management platform. The Head of IT at H.R.L. Morrison & Co led the development and transition to an intranet and introduced the team to Microsoft SharePoint to replace manual sharing of files and hard drives.
The implementation concentrated on intranet portals and document management capabilities typical of Microsoft SharePoint, including centralized document libraries, version control, permissions-based access and content publishing workflows, all aligned with Enterprise Content Management functional requirements. The deployment emphasized collaboration sites, searchable content repositories and site provisioning to standardize storage and reduce ad hoc file exchanges.
Operational coverage targeted corporate teams supported through Morrison & Co, with IT evaluating requirements and outsourcing and negotiating suppliers for supporting IT services during the rollout. Governance adjustments established IT-managed site provisioning, defined content ownership and authoring controls to shift teams from manual file distribution to intranet-driven collaboration.
Microsoft SharePoint served as the central Enterprise Content Management system for intranet publishing and structured document control, supporting internal communications and document lifecycle management. The program was positioned to ensure the company’s progress and transformation to the latest software and technology.
