Hexagon Legacy Hexagon VISI CAD/CAE/CAM Computer-Aided Design (CAD) PLM and Engineering n/a 2021 2021
In 2021, Injection Point deployed Hexagon VISI CAD/CAE/CAM at its Turin facility. Hexagon VISI CAD/CAE/CAM, categorized as Computer-Aided Design (CAD), was implemented to support the companys mould and die engineering workstream, covering feasibility studies, quotation generation, detailed design, simulation and machining preparation. The implementation incorporated VISI Modelling for geometry creation and detailed mould design, VISI Flow for process and flow simulation used in feasibility analysis, and VISI Machining for CAM programming and toolpath generation. Configuration emphasized end-to-end CAD to CAE to CAM continuity within the VISI suite, enabling designers to progress from initial studies to manufacturing-ready outputs without toolchain handoffs. Operational coverage was focused on the mould and die process area, with engineering, quoting and shopfloor programming roles in the Turin site using the software. The rollout centered on workstation-level installations and workflow standardization across modelling, simulation and machining tasks, helping reduce design errors and enabling delivery of initial customer studies in about three days.
