In 2018, Instructure implemented Oracle NetSuite ERP as its ERP Financial system to centralize finance and accounting functions. The implementation positioned Oracle NetSuite ERP as the primary financial backbone for general ledger and core accounting workflows, aligning system setup with corporate accounting processes.
Configuration work emphasized typical ERP Financial modules including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and revenue accounting, with the ERP Systems Analyst role responsible for translating business process requirements into NetSuite configuration and automation. The ERP Systems Analyst also carried responsibility for ongoing administration, maintenance, and support of Oracle NetSuite ERP, ensuring configuration parity with accounting policies and periodic system updates.
Integrations were implemented between Oracle NetSuite ERP and Workday, with integration middleware handled through Boomi as part of the integration architecture. These integrations were scoped to synchronize master data and transactional touchpoints between HR and finance systems, and the ERP Systems Analyst was tasked with owning the integration mappings and operational monitoring.
Governance and operational practices centered on defined change control, configuration management, and cross-functional collaboration between finance and IT, with the ERP Systems Analyst acting as the system steward. Documentation, role based access control, and process-aligned testing were part of the rollout and ongoing support model to maintain alignment between Oracle NetSuite ERP, Workday, and accounting operations.

| Certinia | Legacy | Certinia PSA (ex FinancialForce PSA) | Professional Services Automation | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2018 | 2018 |
In 2018, Instructure implemented Certinia PSA (ex FinancialForce PSA) as its Professional Services Automation platform. The deployment placed Certinia PSA within Instructure’s Salesforce ecosystem to support end to end customer lifecycle workflows managed by the CRM Systems Team.
Certinia PSA was configured to deliver standard Professional Services Automation capabilities including project and engagement management, resource management and allocation, time and expense capture, and project to billing workflow orchestration. The implementation emphasized configuration over custom code while preserving extensibility for Apex or declarative automation where the Salesforce.com Administrator required enhancements.
The Certinia PSA implementation integrated with Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Salesforce CPQ, and Gainsight to link opportunities, cases, community interactions, configured quotes, and customer success signals into services delivery processes. Integration architecture was native to Salesforce, enabling shared objects, record level handoffs from CPQ to project creation, and alignment of delivery status with customer success tooling.
Operational ownership remained with Instructure’s CRM Systems Team, with a Salesforce.com Administrator responsible for ongoing configuration, administration, and selective code maintenance. Governance focused on change control within the Salesforce org, workflow refinements across sales, services delivery, and customer success, and staged updates to align PSA processes with lifecycle touchpoints.
