In 2024, Invacare implemented GAINS Production Planning and Optimization to support Advanced Planning and Scheduling across its global supply chain. The GAINS Production Planning and Optimization deployment targeted production planning and inventory decisioning to improve responsiveness and forecast accuracy for manufacturing and distribution functions.
Configuration emphasized demand sensing, multi echelon inventory optimization and dynamic forecasting, with the solution instrumenting short term demand signals and replenishment parameters to drive production schedules and safety stock recommendations. GAINS Production Planning and Optimization was applied to production planning and optimization workflows, combining forecasting and inventory modules to create actionable weekly and daily plans for manufacturing and distribution.
The deployment covered Invacare's global markets and involved planning, procurement and operations teams as primary business functions, aligning system outputs with existing planning governance and sales and operations planning processes. Inventory policy configuration and runtime planning orchestration were centralized to standardize decision rules across regions and product families while preserving site level execution control.
Invacare reported outcomes tied to the implementation, including an approximate 55% reduction in inventory and a rise in service levels to about 97%, reflecting the combined impact of demand sensing, multi echelon inventory optimization and dynamic forecasting on production and inventory performance.
