Adobe Systems Legacy Adobe Acrobat Pro Document Management Content Management n/a 2020 2020
In 2020, Iris Ohyama implemented Adobe Acrobat Pro as part of a Document Management rollout focused on product design and technical documentation workflows. The deployment targeted the manufacturing and consumer products organization, leveraging design capabilities across industrial design, CMF, and engineering teams. Iris Ohyama is a Japanese manufacturer with more than 6000 employees and operations in Europe, Asia, and North America, and the implementation aimed to standardize document handling across those functional groups. Adobe Acrobat Pro was configured to provide core Document Management capabilities including PDF creation and conversion, advanced editing, annotation and review workflows, OCR for scanned documents, redaction and secure sharing. Configuration included templates for specification sheets and approval stamps used in design signoffs, and role based access controls to separate sensitive technical drawings from public marketing collateral. Workflows emphasized versioning and comment resolution consistent with product development review cycles. The implementation aligned with the companys existing design toolchain, processing exported artifacts from SOLIDWORKS, Keyshot renders, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop into centralized PDF review packages. Operational scope covered industrial design, product engineering, quality assurance and technical documentation teams, with users in Tokyo design centers and other operational sites using Adobe Acrobat Pro for cross discipline reviews. The deployment supported consolidation of multi format design deliverables into a single reviewable PDF asset. Governance was organized around centralized document review and approval processes, with standardized naming conventions, retention policies and role based access controls to support secure distribution of design documents. The rollout included internal guidelines for PDF forms and technical specification workflows, and ongoing use emphasized review traceability through Adobe Acrobat Pro's commenting and version history. Adobe Acrobat Pro was positioned as the canonical Document Management tool for design to manufacturing handoffs.
